Valley View Teacher's Son Lands Spot on Olympic Gymnastics Development Team

Ten-year-old Myles De Bose will be training at the Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas, in December and representing USA Gymnastics in international competition in 2014.

Myles De Bose has made De Big Time.

De Bose, the 10-year-old son of Humphrey Middle School special education teacher Erica De Bose, learned recently he has been selected to be one of three athletes on the USA Gymnastics 11-12 Olympic Development Team, according to a news released issued by the Valley View School District.

And that means Myles, age 10, will attend the national team camp at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas, in December. And he will represent USA Gymnastics in international competition in 2014.

"We are amazed at how much tenacity and professionalism Myles has shown in the sport he has loved since he was 4," said Erica De Bose in the Valley View release. "He continues to reach the goals that he sets for himself, and I am having a blast watching him do it."

Erica is a graduate of Humphrey Middle School and Bolingbrook High School.

Myles placed first at the USTA Nationals this summer in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and first at the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympics in Kansas City, Mo. He tumbles at TwistStars Tumbling and Trampoline in Tinley Park. He is coached by Gail White and Shawn Moore.
