Sam’s Club to Hire 150 Associates for New Romeoville Location

The Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce, Sam's Club and Mayor John Noak will host a ribbon cutting for the Sam's Club hiring center June 18.

Sam’s Club is looking to hire more than 150 associates at its new location at 420 S. Weber Rd. in Romeoville, set to open this fall. To facilitate the process, Sam’s Club has opened a hiring center at 54 South Weber Rd. in High Point Square.

Sam's Club officials, Romeoville Mayor John Noak and the Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the hiring center June 18 at 3 p.m.

“We are excited about Sam’s Club coming to Romeoville," said Mayor John Noak. "This will provide additional retail options as well as job opportunities for our residents. It will also draw customers from other Will County communities to Romeoville."

Club manager Rigoberto Cortez will be hiring both full- and part-time associates to work in all areas of the club, including cashiers, cart pushers, mid-level floor partners, specialty cake decorators, pharmacy technicians, optical specialists and more.

Cortez started at the company 13 years ago as an overnight stocker.

“With hard work and dedication, I was promoted to assistant manager three years later," Cortez said. "In fact, four of our current managers started as hourly associates.”

The Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce looks forward to Sam’s Club becoming an integral part of the community, according to a release. 

"What has impressed me is the time their employees invested in really understanding how to best serve the residents of the community,” said Mari Edmondson, executive director of the Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce.
