Property Crimes: Stolen Truck, Wallet Thefts, Car and House Burglaries

Also one instance of graffiti and several cases of retail theft reported to the Romeoville Police Department.

The Romeoville Police Department took reports on the following property crimes: A customer's wallet was taken from her purse in a shopping car in a business in the 400 block of South Weber Road. Wallet and contents valued at $165; report made at 7:50 p.m. Dec. 19. Copper pipe valued at $1,000 taken from a residence in the 500 block of Anna. Report made at 12:34 p.m. Dec. 22. Graffiti spraypainted on a business in the 500 block of Anderson. Damage valued at $100; report made at 7 p.m. Dec. 26. A GPS, dog grooming tools, iPod and video camera, valued at a total of $1,600, taken from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 600 block of Avalon. Report made at 2:37 p.m. Dec. 27. So Target is 349 and Walmart is 420 so I'm guessing that someone is stealing women's purses in Walmart. My wife had her purse stolen at the walmart in Bolingbrook about 4 years ago. Lessoned learned don't leave it in your cart and walk away from it to shop.   more ›

Police Blotter: Stolen Vehicles, Car Break-Ins

Arrests made by the Romeoville Police Department and other police agencies.

Gordon W. McLelland, 32, 908 E. 7th St., Metropolis, arrested by the Romeoville Police Department and booked into the Will County jail on July 23 on charges of criminal damage to property, unlawful use of a weapon, battery and aggravated assault. Ezequiel Guzman-Barrera, 42, 514 Everette, Romeoville, arrested by the Romeoville Police Department and booked into the Will County jail on July 23 on a domestic battery charge and on an outstanding warrant.
