Police Blotter: Drug Possession, Theft, Fleeing, No License Charges

Arrests made by the Romeoville Police Department and other law enforcement agencies.

Jacklyn D. Dover, 29, 6670 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, arrested by the Romeoville Police Department and booked into the Will County jail on Feb. 4 on a charge of felony theft. Matthew J. Walsh, 21, 421 Montrose, Romeoville, arrested by the Romeoville Police Department and booked into the Will County jail on Feb. 5 on a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear. Javier Hernandez, 29, 435 Garland Ave., Romeoville, arrested by the Romeoville Police Department at about 9:05 a.m. Jan. 22 at Dalhart Avenue and Alexander Circle and charged with driving while license suspended and disobeying a traffic device. Former Romeoville Man Dies After Fleeing Police and Running into Lake

Andrew Banaski, who was pulled unconscious from the water by Joliet police, has died of his injuries.

The 20-year-old man who ran into a lake while fleeing Joliet police has died, according to the Will County coroner's office. Andrew M. Banaski, of 3904 Hennepin Drive, Joliet, formerly of Romeoville, died at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet Saturday, four days after police pulled him unconscious from the lake behind homes in the 3400 block of Lake Shore Drive. Police were attempting to arrest Banaski shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant for assault, also a misdemeanor. It's not clear why Banaski would have run from police, although he has done so in the past, Joliet police Cmdr. Al Roechner said. Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy, but it's …
