Police Blotter: Rash of Burglaries Hits Romeoville

Incidents reported by Romeoville Police Department, May 5-13

Cars burglarized Attempted burglary A resident in the 200 block of Key Largo discovered a damaged window screen after a burglar attempted to enter the locked residence, according to police. Cost to repair the damaged screen is estimated at $225. Copper theft Someone stole copper piping and a water meter worth an estimated $1,700 from a residence in the 1600 block of Rose Lane, according to police Motorcycle nabbed A burglar stole a mini-chopper-style motorcycle left in the garage of a residence in the 300 block of Homer, according to a police report. Estimated cost of the motorcycle is $1,200.

Police Blotter: Cars Burglarized

Incidents reported by Romeoville Police Department, April 29-May 1.

Items stolen Windows smashed A vandal used an unknown object to break two windows on a vehicle parked at a business in the 500block of Fair Meadows Drive, police said.  Cars burglarized, damaged Someone broke the rear window of a car parked in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive and stole $3,500 worth of tools and other items, police said. Tire slashed A sharp object was used to cause $145 worth of damage to the tire of a vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Santa Fe Road, police said. Stolen movies A DVD and several Blu-Ray movies worth a total of $800 were stolen from a business in the 400 block of Weber Road, according to police.

Police Blotter: Stolen Copper, Grand Theft Trailer

Incidents reported by Romeoville Police Department, April 14-19

Copper theft A thief or thieves nabbed copper tubing worth $2,500 from the basement of a vacant building in the 400 block of Julia Avenue, police said. Copper theft, Part II Forty feet of copper pipe, work an estimated $200, was stolen from the basement of a vacant residence in the 400 block of Maggie, police said. Window smashed by would-be robber A window and wooden frame were damaged when someone tried to kick in the window of a business in the 0-100 black of Terrace Lane, according to police. Estimated cost to repair the damage is $1,000. Business burglarized An unknown culprit burglarized a business in the 1300 block of Enterprise Drive, damaging a fence and stealing several pieces of scrap wire worth a total of $2,600, police said. …
