Two Men Arrested in Car Burglaries

Romeoville duo nabbed in series of Sunday night thefts.

Romeoville police arrested two men early Monday in connection with several late-night car burglaries. Nineteen-year-olds Luis Robledo, of the 200 block of Zinnia Drive, and Jose Valencia, of the 300 block of Homer Avenue, were being held Monday at the Will County jail on burglary charges following their early morning arrest. Assistant Chief Steven Lucchesi said the two men are accused of burglarizing four unlocked cars parked in the 300 block of Hemlock Avenue on Sunday night. At around 11:30 p.m., police received a call from a resident who reported spotting two men near her vehicle, before discovering that the car had been burglarized. “We subsequently learned of three more burglaries that had recently taken place” on the same block, …

Teen Charged in String of Burglaries

Police say 15-year-old admits to cutting screens, stealing cash.

A 15-year-old boy is charged in connection with a rash of residential burglaries after being taken into custody on a curfew violation, police said. In a news release, Assistant Chief Steven Lucchesi said the teen was spotted riding a bicycle at around 3:21 a.m. Wednesday in an area where a number of recent burglaries have taken place. After being taken into custody, the teen was found to be in possession of a pair of garden-style gloves and a pair of scissors, according to the release. The arresting officer also observed that the front window of a nearby home was open and that the screen had been cut, police said.
