It's Official -- Isaac to Be a USC Trojan

The Joliet Catholic Academy star running back signed to play football for the University of Southern California.

After injuries and an aborted plan to enroll early, Joliet Catholic Academy star running back Ty Isaac put pen to paper Wednesday and signed to play football for the University of Southern California. Isaac gave the school an oral commitment in May, but his plans to start at USC in January had to be cancelled when he was unable to graduate early. Despite the setback -- and some concerns over coach Lane Kiffin's direction of the USC team, which had a bad 2012 season -- Issac stuck with his commitment and signed on the dotted line Wednesday. No Early USC Start for Ty Isaac: ESPN

The JCA star running-back told the sports channel's online magazine that undisclosed obstacles have prevented him from graduating early.

Despite publicly announced plans to graduate early and start at the University of South California in January, Joliet Catholic Academy star football running-back Ty Isaac tells ESPN that's now off the table. In a report filed online Thursday afternoon, Isaac said in a text message to blog reporter Blair Angulo, "Just didn't work out down the line with a couple things." Among those things, the story says, is a JCA policy that won't make it possible for him to enroll in time for the spring semester, which begins Jan. 14. No explanation for what that policy is was provided.
