Romeoville Numbers Higher than State for Home Ownership, Income

The five-year American Community Survey also offers details on eduction, age and ethnicity of city residents.

The U.S. Census Bureau has released estimates from its American Community Survey, which provides local statistics for the combined years from 2007 to 2011 on everything from housing to employment to marital status in communities throughout the country. The numbers for Romeoville are interesting. For example, the estimated median household income is $66,859, which is higher than the Illinois average of $56,576. Romeoville has a homeownership rate of 87.6 percent — topping the state average of 68.7 percent. The five-year estimates are based on interviews with almost 2 million housing units nationwide from 2007 through 2011. U.S. Census: Romeoville One of Will County's Youngest Communities

According to 2010 data, the average village resident is 31.3 years old, making it the sixth 'youngest' area community.

According to recently released 2010 U. S. census data, the median age of Romeoville residents is almost two years older than it was in 2000. Data released on May 26 shows that nationwide, the country is getting older. Over the last decade, Americans' median age increased to 37.2 from 35.3.
