Letter: Mayor John Noak Helped Me Launch My Business

Mayor John Noak, more than just a mayor! I lost my job a few years ago and had a hard time finding employment. I've lived in Romeoville for 10 years and have built two houses here. I have a wonderful family that includes two young daughters. I couldn't bear the fact that I might lose my house if I didn't find a job soon. I've always had a hobby and a dream of opening my own Cheesecake Business one day. With no jobs on the horizon, I figured I would work on my cheesecake business. I contacted the mayor's office just to find out some info on starting my own business in Romeoville. Trustee Says McMichael Broke Election Law

Romeoville mayoral candidate Steve McMichael declined to discuss the allegations, saying he wasn't "going to be a knee-jerk politician."

Steve McMichael, former Chicago Bears football player and Romeoville mayoral candidate, addressed the media Tuesday at an impromptu press conference spurred by an election disclosure complaint filed by Romeoville Village Trustee Ken Griffin. He and his attorney, Lisa Marie Raucci, said it was too "premature" to issue a statement about the specifics of the complaint, which allege McMichael violated state law by not filing campaign paperwork, fundraising and expenses with the state. They plan to address it through the "appropriate channels," Raucci said.
