Romeoville Man Charged in Robbery Pleads Not Guilty

Three men charged in the incident had arraignment hearings in DuPage County court on Monday, Pioneer Local reports.

A Romeoville man charged in the robbery of a juvenile pleaded not guilty in DuPage County court Monday, according to Pioneer Local. Kelechekwu Akuba, 20, was among three men charged in the March 7 robbery that took place in an unincorporated area near Clarendon Hills pleaded not guilty in DuPage County court Monday.  Akuba, Leverenzel Booth and Jerron Wilbut made their pleas during separate hearings in front of Judge John Kinsella, who according to Pioneer Local informed the men that the state's attorney had filed aggravated robbery and armed robbery charges against the men in addition to the original robbery charges. Romeoville Man One of Three Charged With Robbing Juvenile

Leverenzel Booth and two other men were charged with felony robbery Thursday after an incident near Clarendon Hills, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office says.

By Joe O'Donnell  Charges were announced Friday for three men who sheriff officials said robbed a juvenile near Clarendon Hills late Thursday afternoon. Kelechukwu Akuba, 20, of the 300 block of Daisy Circle, Romeoville, Leverenzel Booth, 18, of the 7500 block of Farmingdale Drive, Darien, and Jerron Wilbut 19, of the 16W600 block of Mockingbird Lane, Willowbrook, were all charged with one count of robbery, a class 2 felony, according to a release from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's spokesperson Dawn Domrose said the incident took place in an unincorporated area near 55th Street and Route 83 at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday.
