December Home Sales Up 47% Over Last Year
The 2012 December house sale prices are also up by about 15 percent over what houses were selling for in the same month in 2011, statistics show.
The 31 detached, single-family homes sold in Romeoville during December represented a 47.6 percent increase over December 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 28 homes sold in Romeoville during November. The median price of homes sold in December ($140,000) also represented an increase, rising 14.8 percent compared to the median price of homes sold a year ago ($122,000). The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout Will and Kendall counties saw growth in December, MORe reported. MORe gets its statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data.
