'Follower' Who Shot Tied-Up Couple Slammed With 90 Years In Prison

The last of four charged with shooting a man and woman after tying them up in a robbery took a 90-year sentence.

Lauren Vasilakis stared at the man who shot her and remembered what he said before pulling the trigger. Edwards shot both Vasilakis, 23 and Joshua Terdic in July 2009. He broke into Terdic's apartment and put a bullet in the Channahon man's head. Terdic, who was 21 at the time, died 10 days …

Until we decriminalize certain "drugs" the power and struggle for control will never shift from gangs/cartels to the hands of a proper government ageny where it can be taxed and monitored,   more ›

Masked Burglars Disable Alarm, Rob Gas Station

Firefighters who arrived to investigate a trouble alarm nearly had a run-in with the thieves, who returned to finish the job minutes later.

Romeoville firefighters stumbled across a burglary in progress without even realizing it early Wednesday. Assistant Police Chief Steven Lucchesi said two men were caught on surveillance video robbing the Citgo gas station, 1100 N. Independence Boulevard, shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday. The two men can be seen on video exiting the store just before firefighters arrived, Lucchesi said, but they didn’t stay gone for long. After checking the alarms and resecuring the front door, the fire crew left the site, moments before the two men returned at 1:42 a…
