Former Romeoville Police Detective Sgt. Paul L. Liske, 64, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012

Paul L. Liske, 64, late of Joliet and formerly of Romeoville, passed away Saturday June 2, 2012. A Vietnam veteran serving the U.S. Navy from1964 to 1968, Paul has been with the Romeoville Police Department since 1977, retiring in 2005 after 28 years of service. He worked as Patrol Officer, Evidence Technician, Detective Patrol Sergeant and Detective Sergeant. Paul enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Liske; loving father of Lori Liske, Gilbert Liske, Edward Liske and Sheryl (Kurt) Collins; cherished grandfather of Carli Collins; dear brother of Catherine Winnick; uncle of numerous nephews. Stephanie Marie Kittle, 25, of Romeoville, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012. Stephanie is survived by her loving parents, Daniel and Michelle Kittle; cherished sister Danielle and brother Brice Kittle; devoted grandparents John and Patricia Kittle and Donna Feshanko. She is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends; she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Terrance Baden. Stephanie worked as a medical assistant at a doctor’s office. Martin Andrew Buchwald, age 79, passed away Saturday May 19, 2012, at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital. He was a resident of Romeoville since 1974, and formerly of Berwyn. Mr. Buchwald retired from Seneca Petroleum Company and the Robert Gorski Bus Company, both of Lemont, after many years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1953-56 and a member of the New Lenox American Legion Post #1977, the Joliet VFW Post #367 and the Lockport Moose Lodge #1557. He was active in the Senior Bowling Leagues Tuesday-Thursday and Super Senior Thursday at Strike and Spare Lanes in Lockport. The longtime village employee died Monday following an accident.

Family and friends will say goodbye to lifelong Romeoville resident and veteran village employee Le’Roy “Del” Burns this week. Visitation is set for 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Dr. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, April 16, at the funeral home chapel, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Burns, 52, died Monday night following an accident. The Romeoville High School graduate worked for the Village of Romeoville for more than 30 years. He is survived by brother James R. Friends Remember Jeremy Asbell: 'He Always Had the Biggest Smile on His Face'

Drowning victim's memorial visitation will be held Monday. Service will be at Calvary Church in Naperville at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Those who knew Jeremy Asbell say he always had a smile on his face. Asbell, 25, was found dead in a Lemont retention pond Thursday morning. The Bolingbrook native and 2004 Romeoville High School graduate was reported missing early Tuesday morning after he and a friend were tossed from a canoe that capsized on the pond.  Crews discovered Asbell's body after two days of searchingthe pond, at Frontage Road and Woodward Avenue. Preliminary results of an autopsy indicate Asbell died of an accidental drowning and there is no indication of foul play or suspicious circumstances, according to a release from the DuPage County Coroner's Office. “I used to work with Jeremy at Plato's Pizza, as well as his brother Jeff,” said Johnny Lopez on the …
