The House Minority Leader isn't confirming or denying reports he may return to his roots as a prosecutor.
State Rep. And House Minority Leader Tom Cross of Oswego may be considering a run for Illinois Attorney General. According to the Capitol Fax blog written by Rich Miller, Cross has been asked by State Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka and Congressman Aaron Schock of Peoria to consider entering the race if the state’s current top prosecutor Lisa Madigan decides to run for Governor in 2014. Cross appeared on WJOL radio Tuesday and would not deny the possibility of entering the race. Cross previously worked for eight years as a prosecutor in the Kendall County State’s Attorney's office. Take the Patch Poll: Does Pat Quinn deserve re-election or would you put another Democrat on the ballot in 2014?
Pat Quinn is so unpopular, according to a recent Public Policy Polling survey, that Lisa Madigan and Bill Daley would easily beat him in a Democratic primary while Kirk Dillard and Dan Rutherford would topple him in the general election. Quinn says he's going to run for re-election in 2014, but as 2012 comes to an end only 25 percent of Illinois voters approve of the job he's doing as governor. Public Policy Polling says 64 percent of voters disapprove of Quinn's performance — "making him the most unpopular governor PPP has polled on anywhere in the country this year." The Will County State's Attorney and the Illinois Attorney General want corporate giant ExxonMobil to make things right after spraying oil all around its Channahon Township plant.
Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow and Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan have teamed up to take on corporate giant ExxonMobil in the wake of its Channahon Township plant sparying oil all over the place. “ExxonMobil must accept full responsibility for the harm this oily mist caused our environment as well as the farms, houses, vehicles, streets and other personal and public property in our surrounding communities,” Glasgow said in a statement released Wednesday. “The preliminary injunction we seek in cooperation with Attorney General Madigan ensures that this incident will be thoroughly investigated and that ExxonMobil will clean up damaged properties and natural resources,” he said.
