Son Struck Mom with Screwdriver in Fight, Police Say

A Joliet man who violated an order of protection and attacked his mother with a screwdriver was arrested early Wednesday morning, Crest Hill police report. Torrence D. Holmes, 28, of 1322 Cutter, Joliet, was charged with felony aggravated domestic battery after allegedly striking his mother in her Crest Hill home during a fight over Holmes' refusal to return his mother's cell phone, Deputy Police Chief Ed Clark said. Police arrived at the home in the 1300 block of Pioneer Road to find Holmes' family members holding him down in the front yard, he said.
