Trustee Says McMichael Broke Election Law

Romeoville mayoral candidate Steve McMichael declined to discuss the allegations, saying he wasn't "going to be a knee-jerk politician."

Steve McMichael, former Chicago Bears football player and Romeoville mayoral candidate, addressed the media Tuesday at an impromptu press conference spurred by an election disclosure complaint filed by Romeoville Village Trustee Ken Griffin. He and his attorney, Lisa Marie Raucci, said it was too "premature" to issue a statement about the specifics of the complaint, which allege McMichael violated state law by not filing campaign paperwork, fundraising and expenses with the state. They plan to address it through the "appropriate channels," Raucci said. Steve McMichael should run for a trustee position to learn our local Government then maybe he could be taken seriously. He says he wants a better school system....he lives in Plainfield school district and the Mayor of Romeoville doesn't do much if anything concerning schools, but even if he did, it wouldn't be in Plainfield school system.Many people will vote for Steve McMichael because of …   more ›
