Bishop Changes Mind on Letting Suspect Priest Minister

Bishop Daniel Conlon said "for the sake of the greater good," the Rev. F. Lee Ryan will not be allowed to return to limited ministry.

Joliet Bishop Daniel Conlon has reversed his decision to allow a priest accused of having a sexual misconduct with a teen in the 1970s to return to ministry, according to a published report. Conlon was quoted in a speech he gave in August to a conference of staffers who oversee child safety programs in American dioceses in an article in the Aug. 30 edition of Origins, according to the Religion News Service. "worst news reporting, I have ever seen" Give me a break. Apologists for the sex-abuse scandal that has rocked the Catholic Church, just don't seem to get. They act like the Church is the victim here. Just like the Penn St. scandal, the only victims are the children who were raped and molested by the Catholic Church and it's priests. Bishop Conlon seems to see the real picture here. The Church's …   more ›
