Clarence E. Knight III was charged with aggravated battery for cutting his sister's hand and her boyfriend's nose during the confrontation, Joliet police say.
A Joliet man who pushed his way into a bedroom and slashed his sister and her boyfriend with a knife while the couple was having sex was arrested early Tuesday morning, Joliet police said. Clarence E. Knight III, 20, of 410 Bellarmine, faces a felony charge of aggravated battery for punching his 23-year-old sister in the head, cutting her left hand and slicing the right side of the 37-year-old boyfriend's nose, leaving a 1-inch wound, Cmdr. Al Roechner said. The three had been together at a home at 823 Cardinal Lane when the sister and her boyfriend decided to go to an upstairs bedroom, Roechner said. Crest Hill police arrested Bruce Gimpel on Thanksgiving morning and charged him with first-degree murder.
Police have arrested a neighbor in the murder of 89-year-old Dorothy Dumyahn, whose body was found Sunday inside her burned Crest Hill home. Bruce Gimpel, 48, who lived next door to Dumyahn in his brother's 2313 Caton Farm Road house, was taken into custody Thursday morning and charged with first-degree murder, Crest Hill Police Chief Dwayne Wilkerson told the Joliet Herald News. Gimpel was a suspect early on in the case because of the inconsistent statements he made to police, Wilkerson said. No motive was released as to why Gimpel would stab the elderly woman or set her home on fire to conceal the homicide, according to the story. A Romeoville man was charged with possession of a controlled substance after Frankfort police found a bottle of antidepressants in the car he was driving during a traffic stop. Christopher A. Cleaver, 23, of 1913 Somerset Court, was arrested at about 9:30 a.m. Oct. 9 by the Frankfort Police Department. He was also issued citations for driving with a suspended license and no insurance. According to department records, police were dispatched to an address near the intersection of Brown Drive and Charrington Drive in response to a harassment call. A registered sex offender knew the cops were onto him for molesting a child and was about to leave town, but instead hid out in a crawlspace when the law showed up at his door, police said. James Robinson, 34, of 1023 Arthur Ave. was captured and jailed on three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child after he emerged from the crawlspace about 3 p.m. Thursday, police said. Joliet police Detective Tizoc Landeros said Robinson sexually assaulted his 10-year-old stepdaughter. He allegedly attacked the girl while her mother was away. Robinson is a registered sex offender. A Joliet man is accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old female relative in 1990, according to Joliet Police Chief Michael Trafton. Dennis Mann, 56, 7011 Hadrian, was arrested last week on a California warrant citing charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child and sexual penetration, Trafton told the Joliet Herald News. A local man went to the hospital with a headache and high blood pressure, but apparently didn't think they had enough drugs there for him, police said. Gregory Heintz, 35, got caught allegedly shooting cocaine in the bathroom of his Provena St. Joseph Medical Center hospital room. Heintz was arrested upon his release from the hospital Tuesday evening and was booked into the Will County jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Heintz, who reportedly gave the police home addresses in both Plainfield and Romeoville, stopped by the St. Joe's emergency room on Sept. 12. Three Joliet men plotting to rob drugs from a stash house were swept up in a federal sting, officials said.
Three Joliet men on their way to rob cocaine from a stash house instead landed in the federal lockup, officials said. Nieko "Yogi" Hadley, 20, of 811 Gage St., Justin "Fatman" Davila, 23, of 565 Elwood Ave., and Davila's brother Jason Davila, 21, of the same Elwood Avenue address, all were charged with conspiring to intent with the intent to distribute cocaine. The younger Davila does not have a funny nickname, according to the feds. The three men were arrested Monday night as they were traveling north from Joliet to rob cocaine from a stash house, according to a criminal complaint filed against them. A Romeoville woman who decided escalate a fight with her boyfriend by bringing friends to their house to beat him with a golf club and steal his laptop computer, phone and wallet has been arrested. Romeoville police say officers were first called to the couple's 423 Dalhart home on a report of a domestic disturbance between Melissa Richards, 25, and her boyfriend at about 3:45 a.m. Sept. 3. A 15-year-old boy was in police custody Tuesday in connection with the Monday afternoon shooting outside Joliet Central High School that forced the school into lockdown. Joliet police say the incident involved two boys, one of whom was chasing the other with a gun, according to a story in the Joliet-Herald News. The incident began at about 4:05 p.m. Monday when a Central staff member heard a shot, resulting in the school going into lockdown for about 30 minutes.
