Students Will Take Parents on a Learning Tour at Hermansen

Plus, Everyday Essentials and a handy Patch User Guide.

Turnabout is not only for dances or fair play anymore.

Now, it’s a way to describe the unique format for the Hermansen Family Expo on Thursday, Jan. 30.

Students will serve as hosts, taking their parents on personally guided learning experience tours at the Romeoville elementary school, according to a Valley View School District news release.

“We are very enthusiastic about this new format,” stated Principal Jackie Mitchem in the news release. “It will be a student-centered evening where children take ownership of their own learning and share with their guests what they have learned in recent weeks.”

The family expo runs from 5-7 p.m.

After families have completed their learning experiences, they will be able to participate in some fun family fitness activities in the gym or enjoy light snacks in the cafeteria. (No, there is not a test for parents; it’s not that kind of turnabout!).
