Romeoville Kicks Off Summer with Car Show, Community Events

See what's in store this month in Romeoville.

A slew of summertime events are coming up in Romeoville in June, including the village's annual car show, set for Sunday at Romeoville High School.

Here's a roundup of what's in store this month:

  • White Oak Library's summer reading program kickoff, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 5 in the library's meeting room A-main level, 201 W. Normantown Rd.: This event is open to all ages. No registration is required. For more information, contact the Children's Services Desk at 815-886-2030.
  • Island Rendevous, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9, Isle a la Cache Museum, 501 135th St.: This free, two-day celebration "Island Rendezvous" brings families together for quality time and a shared experience with hundreds of others during one of the most beautiful times of the year.   • Route 66 Car Show, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Romeoville High School, 100 N. Independence Blvd: Come out to view the many vehicles being shown:classics, customs, antique, muscle, jeeps and even motorcycles! Also enjoy micro-reality racing by P&G Speedway from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Relay For Life Culver's Fundraiser, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Culver's, 485 N. Weber Rd: Come out and show your support and help team "Angels by your Side" raise money for American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Twenty percent of your order will be donated.
  • Take The Wheel—Help the Romeoville High School Marching Band at the Rod Baker Ford "Drive 4Ur School Event," 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Romeoville High School: Take a free test drive and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to the RHS band, up to $6,000.
  • Romeoville American Legion Post 52 "2nd Annual Baseball Night Out" Fundraiser, 7:05 p.m. Friday, June 21, Silver Cross Field, 1 Mayor Art Schultz Dr., Joliet: Advanced tickets now available for $10 each.
