Meet Nakita

The young pit bull is in need of a home.

Nakita is an approximately 1-1/2- to 2-year-old female blue pit bull.

Earlier this year, she lost her left rear limb due to a unrepairable fracture. She is as loving and sweet as they come. She loves attention and wants nothing more than to please you. She is coming along with her canine socialization and definitely likes to be the alpha.

She did have a litter of puppies, which may have brought out her alpha trait, but with consistent training and supervision volunteers believe she will be just fine.

Nakita occasionally guards her toys from other dogs, but we are working on that. She seems to do just fine with younger dogs and loves children. She is quite the kisser and will give them every opportunity that she gets.

She responds pretty well on a leash and volunteers are working on her pulling. Her disability doesn't hold her back one bit. She is house trained and has a hearty appetite.

Overall, she is a healthy young girl in need of a forever home with endless love to give.

Nakita is spayed, vaccinated, fecal tested, heartworm tested and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200.

The Romeoville Humane Society is a volunteer-run animal rescue. Before they are adopted, pets are spayed or neutered and receive all shots and a microchip identification implant.
