Meet Jackie

Jackie and her sister, Sandie, are both looking for homes.

Hi, I'm Jackie. Someone let me and my sister, Sandie, out and never brought us back in. so we were living in southern Illinois trying to eat and stay alive. I wandered to the side of the road every time a car came by and finally someone stopped to see me. My sister was hiding in the tall grass, but they saw her too! I heard them say that we had a lot of ticks on us. We went to the doctor with those people and they gave us a bath and pulled those nasty ticks off us and started to feed us real good ... and oh!, they have four other dogs and we all get along great.

The doctor said I had worms in my belly, but not in my heart. The people were happy to hear that and the doctor gave us some medicine.

Also, girls don't reveal their weight or their age, but I think it's OK to say I weigh 27 pounds and we are somewhere between 8 and 9 months old on Memorial Day. I didn't like the thing they put around my neck at first but then they put shiny metal things on there so I don't mind too much anymore.

I like it inside — would you bring me home? What about my sister Sandie? She looks exactly like me, but she is golden. We are very quiet. Check us out for yourself. If you are interested in meeting either of us, please call 877-813-7300.

The Romeoville Humane Society is a volunteer-run animal rescue. Before they are adopted, pets are spayed or neutered and receive all shots and a microchip identification implant.
