Meet Chewie

The young kitten is ready for a forever home.

Mr. Chew, Chewbacca, Chewie ... Humane society volunteers call him the cutest little bow-legged male kitten you've ever seen.

Chewie is one hard nut to crack. He's got a very strong personality. He was born outside, and some "feral" attitude remains.

Chewie is a very sweet little man and is his foster mom's favorite. The only time he'll come to you for  affection or petting is if you're already petting someone else (or if you have  food). If you are seeking him out, chances are he'll flatten and go limp. But don't let that discourage you — as he's giving you dead weight to pick  up, he's purring like a mad man before you even lift him to your chest.

Chewie loves being pet. He loves his ears scratched and his shoulders rubbed, but he doesn't want you to know that, so he makes it appear oh so irritating.

He would do best in a home with another cat (one of his siblings would be ideal — Leia, Luke, or Binks). His siblings bring out his confidence.

He may only weigh four pounds, but he'll stand up to a 90-pound pit bull and not back down. Crazy? Probably, or maybe he can sense that she’s all talk.

He is currently living with his siblings, dogs and kids — he's a very quiet part of the household, but always around and not one to hide under the bed.

He is neutered, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative, and current on vaccinations for his age. His adoption fee is $125, which covers his neutering and rabies shots at 16 weeks old, although he IS ready for his  forever home now.

If you are interested in meeting him, please call 877-813-7300.

The Romeoville Humane Society is a volunteer-run animal rescue. Before they are adopted, pets are spayed or neutered and receive all shots and a microchip identification implant.
