Dog Day Afternoon At Cottonwood Farm to Raise Money For Canines

Fund-raiser Saturday will benefit good causes---and provide a good time.

A first-ever fund-raiser to benefit area animal shelters and search and rescue dog Rosie the bloodhound is set for Saturday.

Dogs of all breeds and sizes and their owners are invited to Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm’s for “Woofapalooza” fund-raiser. The Romeoville Humane Society will also be part of the event and will be on site with several of its adoptable pets.

The event goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the pumpkin farm right outside Crest Hill at 17250 S. Weber Road.

Woofapalooza will feature several “dog-themed” activities, including a dog agility course, dogs bobbing for wieners, a dog fashion show, a Frisbee show and skinny dipping for dogs.

There will also be a doggie parade, along with contests for best-dressed dog, owner/dog lookalikes, and smallest and biggest dog.

During Woofapalooza, local veterinarians will present information on keeping pets healthy and happy, and food will be available for purchase.

Admission is $10 per person and free for dogs.

Proceeds from the event will benefit area humane societies as well as “Rosie,” the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s bloodhound.
