White Oak Library's Summer Reading Program Begins Monday

Residents can register at the Romeoville branch or online for the White Oak summer reading program.

The White Oak Library District's 2013 summer reading program will begin Monday, June 3. 

This year's theme is, "Have Book Will Travel." The program will run at the Romeoville, Lockport and Crest Hill branches through July 26. 

The summer reading program is available for all ages. Children, teens and adults will have the opportunity to win prizes and gift cards.

Starting Monday, residents can register at the library or online at www.whiteoaklibrary.org. The library will also register readers at the summer reading program kickoff party for children on Wednesday at the Romeoville branch from 6 to 8 p.m. 

Some summer reading program events will include the "See a Juggler, Be a Juggler!" program for children at Richland School in Crest Hill, "Literary Passports" for teens at Romeoville, and "Have Tech, Will Travel" at Crest Hill, "UFOs in Illinois and Elsewhere" at Lockport/Gaylord, and "Desserts from Around the World" at Romeoville.

Also, the summer reading book club will meet at PB Mulligan’s in Romeoville on Wednesday, July 17 at 7 p.m. to discuss "Travels with Charley" by John Steinbeck.
