Funnel Cloud Spotted; Flash Flood Warning in Effect
A flash flood watch is in effect for Will County through late Wednesday night.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for southern Will County until 2:30 a.m. The NWS estimates that two to three inches of rain had already fallen on the area with more rain expected.

A flash flood warning has been issued for northern Will County until 9 p.m. Flooding is expected in Bolingbrook.

A flash flood warning has been issued for southwestern DuPage County and northwestern Will County until 7:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Thunderstorms in the Naperville area have caused heavy rainfall and radar has indicated nearly 2 inches of rain over the past hour, according to the National Weather Service.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Will County until 6:45 p.m. From the alert:
A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NORTH AURORA TO 7 MILES NORTH OF MORRIS... AND MOVING EAST AT 50 MPH. THE ROTATION WITH THESE STORMS HAS SHOWN SIGNS OF WEAKENING... HOWEVER THE STRAIGHT LINE WINDS ARE LOOKING MORE SIGNIFICANT.

Update 4:30 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Will County through 1 a.m. for seven counties including Will and DuPage counties.
Benedictine University has evacuated the campus and, as of 5 p.m., North Cenral College and College of DuPage are closed due to weather.
About 120 flights have been canceled at O'Hare Airport because of severe weather, according to ABC7, and Navy Pier has canceled its fireworks show, all BestBeerGarden performances, and tonight’s #CirqueShanghai shows.
Update 4 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Kendall, Kane, Will and Grundy counties through 9 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service office in Chicago, widespread severe weather will be a possibility Wednesday.
"Some of the thunderstorms will have the potential to produce damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes," according to the National Weather Service's Hazardous Weather Outlook. "Heavy rainfall will be possible with any thunderstorm, which could lead to localized flash flooding."
A flash flood watch is in effect for Will County Wednesday afternoon through late Wednesday night.
Widespread rainfall of one to three inches is likely north of a line from Dixon to Gary, with locally higher amounts. There is the potential for very high rainfall in some of the stronger storms. The heavy rain will fall over highly urbanized areas of Rockford and Chicago.
Thunderstorms Wednesday night could "congeal into a long-lived squall line called a "derecho" with a more widespread damaging wind threat in this region," according to the NWS.
