Romeoville's Relay for Life Set for This Saturday

The original date, June 30, had to be cancelled because of the previous day's storm, which left many in town without power.

The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life in Romeoville this Saturday starts with a 3 p.m. survivor luncheon at the followed by the opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. at the Amphitheater.

The weather should be far more pleasant than , which was cancelled due to the previous day's violent storm. The in Romeoville is calling for a high of 78 degrees and an overnight low of 57, with no rain in the forecast.

Last year, the event raised more than $50,000. The goal is to celebrate the lives of those who have battled and are still battling cancer, remember loved ones lost to the disease and empower everyone to fight back.

9 p.m. Luminaria Ceremony

10 p.m. Movie in the Park (The Lorax)

5:30 a.m. Closing Ceremonies

(Throughout the night, there will be a DJ, themed laps and an inflatable moon jump)
