There are plenty of things to do this weekend – and better yet, most of them are FREE!

The Village of Romeoville’s Parks and Recreation Department will present “Cars 2” tonight (Friday, June 8), at , 1050 W. Romeo Road. Pre-movie activities will begin at 8 p.m.; guests are encouraged to bring a blanket and settle in to watch “Cars 2” on the big screen. The movie will begin promptly at 9:15 p.m., and light refreshments will be available for purchase.

2.: From 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Friday, the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce will  transform Chicago Street, between Jefferson and Clinton,  into New Orleans. The first-time event will feature live music, food and drinks. Admission is $5 and proceeds benefit the United Way and the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce.

3.: The 29th-annual Island Rendezvous, a free, all-age family program sponsored by the Forest Preserve District of Will County, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10, at Isle a la Cache Museum, 501 East 135th Street (Romeo Road), 1/2-mile mile east of Route 53 in Romeoville.
