Girls Basketball: Romeoville Gets 20th Win By Defeating Plainfield East

Romeoville 56, Plainfield East 39. Sophomore Kiera Currie scored 17 of her game-high 24 points in the first half of the Spartans' victory on Senior Night.

The Hot Read: On a night where Romeoville seniors Elieza Claudio, Navadee Gonzalez and Raquel Sessoms were honored prior to the game, sophomore Kiera Currie stole the show. Currie scored a game-high 23 points, 17 of which came in the first half, to lead the Spartans to a 56-39 win against Plainfield East.

Patch's MVP: Not only did Currie set the pace offensively with 23 points, Romeoville's top point-getter also had 13 rebounds and eight steals in a triumphant effort.

Key Stats: Romeoville collected eight steals in the third quarter. The Spartans' bench cleaned the glass effectively as seven players combined to pull down 15 rebounds. Romeoville ended the game on a 9-1 run over the final 3:47.
