Recreational Activities Day camp begins June 6 at Lewis University

Lewis University in Romeoville will host a summer Recreational Activities Day (RAD) camp from 9 a.m. – noon each day during the following three weeks: June 6-10, June 20-24 and July 25-29. The cost is $75 for each week of camp. Campers registering for more than week of camp will be given a $5 discount. There is also a $5 discount for those registering more than one child. Discounts cannot be combined.

Quality instruction, fun learning environment, camp T-shirt, special awards ceremony and daily pool time are features of the camp being held for boys and girls ages 5-14 years old. Scheduled activities include tennis, swimming, sand volleyball, basketball, Dodge ball, Frisbee golf, hand ball and hiking.

Campers are asked to provide tennis racquet, sunscreen, insect repellant, labeled water bottle, gym shoes, hat, swimsuit, towel and lock each day. Registration will be held from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. on June 6, June 20 and July 25 in the Student Recreation and Fitness Center. The camp awards ceremonies will take place at 11:30 a.m. on June 10, June 24 and July 29.

Sponsored by Student Recreation, Fitness and Wellness, the camp is staffed by the Student Recreation and Fitness Center as well as students from the Lewis community. The staff is selected by their knowledge of activities, capacity to work well with children, and the ability to be positive role models.
