Cinco de Mayo 5K Run/1 Mile Walk/Kid's Fun Run

Join the race for the 11th annual Cinco de Mayo 5K Run/1 Mile Walk/Kid’s Fun Run – athletes of all ages are welcome!  The course will begin at the Recreation Center, run northwest through O’Hara Woods, then back to the Recreation Center and finish at Village Hall. This outdoor event will be held rain or shine, so please dress for the weather.  Strollers are allowed but must start behind runners. Bicycles, in-line skates, roller skates, other wheeled vehicles (except wheelchairs) and dogs are not allowed.

Pre-Registration will be taken beginning January 2nd through May 2nd (by 5:00pm). No registration will be taken after May 2nd until the day of the race. Register online at www.romeoville.org or pick up a registration form at the Recreation Center. Registration fees (for both Romeoville residents and non Romeoville residents) are: 5K Run – $30; 1 Mile Walk – $20; Kid’s Fun Run – $5.   Early registration will be taken until Friday, April 27th at a discounted rate of $5 off the Run/Walk registration fee.  T-shirts will be available to the first 200 registrants (5K Run/1 Mile Walk only).  Pre-registered runners may pick up their packets beginning Monday, April 30th at the Recreation Center during regular facility hours.

Awards will be given to the first place overall runner, first place overall walker, the top three male runners in each age group, and the top three female runners in each age group.  Ribbons will be given to all participants. Results will be posted at www.romeoville.org.

The Post-Race Party will be held at Deer Crossing Park from 7:00 until 10:00pm.  Everybody is invited to join the post-race party which will include authentic entertainment, food, and beverages!  Race participation is not mandatory to join in the post-race party.  Activities include a DJ, kid’s games, authentic food, adult beverages, and margaritas.
