VVSD Board Fills Administrative Posts

Three new special education staffers will fill posts created by James Mitchem's administrative restructuring plan.

Three new administrators were hired Monday to fill positions created as part of incoming .

In December, the board of education approved Mitchem’s administrative shakeup, which essentially swaps a dozen positions by eliminating 12 while creating 12 new posts.

New to the district is Shannon Cribaro-DiFatta, who is currently a multi-needs program administrator and extended school year administrator for the School Association for Special Education in DuPage County.

Cribaro-DiFatta also served as the special education program supervisor, Illinois alternative assessment coordinator and integrative therapy team coordinator for Cicero District 99.  Assistant principals named

The departure of three retiring staff members and a promotion for a Bolingbrook High School administrator prompted the hiring of three new assistant principals.

Bolingbrook High School special education department chair Paula Bodzioch will fill the role vacated by Rachel Kinder as Kinder moves into her new post as an assistant superintendent. Bodzioch was named interim principal at BHS earlier this year. She has also served as a special education teacher and assistant student resources team leader.

Bodzioch's base salary is $95,130.

Romeoville High School English and foreign language chair Gina Smith will become an assistant principal at the high school starting July 1. She replaces Lindy Steeves, who is retiring.

Smith has taught English at RHS since 2006 and was an eighth-grade language arts teacher at Humphrey Middle School for two years. Her new salary was set at $95,130.

The departure of another retiree, Humphrey Assistant Principal Andrea Pegues, means yet another administrative role has opened up. It will be filled by current Humphrey Dean of students Jody McIntyre.

McIntyre previously served as a third-grade teacher at both Hermansen and Valley View elementary schools. Her base salary is $70,668.

A third retiring administrator, A. Vito Martinez’ Sue Kunes, will be replaced by Morton East High School Assistant Principal for Instruction Sarah DeDonato.

DeDonato is the former assistant principal for student support at Morton East and also served as dean of students and a seventh- and eighth-grade language arts teacher at Unity Junior High School in Cicero School District 99. Her salary was set at $81,540.
