Valley View Student Test Scores Improve in 2013

The district presented a report of academic progress at a school board meeting this month.

Test scores of Valley View School District 365U students have improved from 2012, according to a report of academic progress recently presented to the school board. 

Student progress in reading and math was above the national average for all grade levels except tenth grade reading. Progress was above the national average for all sub groups, which include nationality, IEP and English Language Learners, or bilingual students. 

Special education students making typical growth over time jumped for 41 percent in 2012 to 57 percent in 2013. 

College and career readiness for Valley View students jumped slightly from spring 2012 to spring 2013. 

College and career readiness in reading jumped from 32 percent to 36 percent. 

In math, the percent of students meeting college and career readiness standards jumped from 29 to 31 percent.
