Valley View Names New Principal for Martinez Middle School
Sarah DeDonato will be the new principal at A. Vito Martinez Middle School beginning July 1.
Sarah DeDonato has yet to log an official work day in the and she's already gotten a promotion.
DeDonato, who was to become assistant principal—replacing the retiring Sue Kunes—will now become the school's next principal after Kelly Gilbert decided to take on a new role in the district in May.
Right now, DeDonato serves as the assistant principal for instruction at Morton East High School in Cicero. She'll begin her work with Valley View in July.

DeDonato is a graduate of the University of Illinois and holds a Master's Degree in school leadership from Concordia University.
"I'm really excited to to start at AVM and follow Mrs. Gilbert and (work) with the great staff over there," DeDonato said.

Gilbert, who has been the Martinez principal since 2004, was . She replaces Carrie Stange, who has taken a position with the Addison elementary school district.
