Report: Devon Hodges Leaving Bradley After Freshman Year

The former Romeoville and Bolingbrook basketball player had a scholarship to play for the Bradley Braves.

There’s another school switch in store for former basketball player Devon Hodges.

The Peoria Journal Star reported that the Bradley University freshman plans to transfer to another university following this semester and has been released from his basketball scholarship.

Hodges attended before transferring to Bolingbrook in 2009.

In November, he filed a lawsuit against , alleging he suffered “unfathomable abuse, harassment and even torture” after changing schools. Hodges’ complaint alleges that RHS basketball coach Jeff Bambule and athletic director Jim Boudouris attempted to force him to return to RHS. The suit also alleges he was subjected to stalking and prank phone calls.

Valley View officials have declined to comment on the case, saying they cannot discuss litigation.

Jason Craddock, Hodges’ attorney, said the 18-year-old is seeking unspecified damages in the case.

His lawsuit against Valley View is still pending. A status hearing in the case is set for March 21.

According to the Journal Star, Hodges' departure from the Peoria school frees up a scholarship for a new recruit.
