No School Monday: Valley View Braces for Latest Blast of Arctic Weather

All schools will be closed on Monday, Jan. 27, because of the inclement weather forecast. The Valley View School board meeting scheduled for Monday night will go on as scheduled.

Because of a forecast that calls for wind chill values to drop as low as minus-25 to minus-30 Sunday night and early Monday morning, officials in the Valley View School District have decided to close all schools on Monday.

Parents were notified of the decision via the district's ParentLink a little after noon on Sunday.

The message read like this:

"Hello, this message is from Valley View Public Schools serving Bolingbrook and Romeoville. All district public schools will be closed Monday, Jan. 27, due to inclement weather. If your child attends an out-of-district school, transportation services will not be in operation."

District officials said a decision on possibly closing Tuesday, Jan. 28, will be made at or before 5 p.m. on Monday.

Also, district officials said Monday night's school board meeting will go on as scheduled at 7 p.m. at Lukancic Middle School in Romeoville,
