No Early USC Start for Ty Isaac: ESPN

The JCA star running-back told the sports channel's online magazine that undisclosed obstacles have prevented him from graduating early.

Despite publicly announced plans to graduate early and start at the University of South California in January, Joliet Catholic Academy star football running-back Ty Isaac tells ESPN that's now off the table.

In a report filed online Thursday afternoon, Isaac said in a text message to blog reporter Blair Angulo, "Just didn't work out down the line with a couple things."

Among those things, the story says, is a JCA policy that won't make it possible for him to enroll in time for the spring semester, which begins Jan. 14. No explanation for what that policy is was provided.

Isaac was set to visit the Los Angeles school Dec. 7, joined by other USC early enrollees, including defensive tackle Kenny Bigelow and quarterback Max Browne, but now will likely do his official visit in mid-January, with other Trojan recruits, the story said.

Isaac committed to the Trojans in May, which is when he announced that he planned to graduate early from high school.
