Lewis had already scored one run in the ninth when sophomore Kyle Kapka (Mount Prospect/Prospect) singled in sophomore Ben Albano (West Dundee/Jacobs) to make it 14-12. Senior Michael Wido (Downers Grove/Downers Grove South) stepped to the plate with runners on second and third. He wasted no time tying the game with a double to right center. Following a ground out which moved Wido up to third, it was senior Mike Bolling (Chicago/Guerin Prep) at the plate. He slapped a pitch to the right of the third baseman and into short left field to score Wido for the walk off two-out RBI.

Bolling finished the game 2-for-6 with a solo home run in the second inning. His home run came in a six-run second inning. The big hit in the second was a triple by freshman Mike Barajas (Chicago/Nazareth) to clear the bases and knock in three runs.

Lewis had a big inning in the fifth also, scoring four runs. Junior Zach Stetson (Kankakee/Herscher) had a two-RBI single that a third run came around to score on after a misplay by the right fielder. Stetson hustled all the way to third on the play and eventually scored on a Wido single.

Junior Kegan Banks (Dripping Springs, Texas/Dripping Springs/Blinn) pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the win for the Flyers. His record is now 2-1. Chris Klein pitched the ninth and took the loss for Saint Xavier. He is now 4-1.
