An exploration of career possibilities available in aviation will take place during the annual Women & Minorities Aviation Career Conference from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on April 2 at Lewis University in Romeoville. Everyone is invited to attend the conference, where women and minority aviation professionals will discuss aviation security, aviation maintenance, aviation administration, air traffic control and piloting.

This conference will describe what it is like to work in the aviation industry as a pilot, mechanic, air traffic controller, aviation security manager, flight dispatcher, aircraft accident investigator and airline manager. There will be an exploration of the work environments at international airports, major airlines and international aviation businesses. Information regarding preparation for a career in aviation, including the necessary skills and education, will be provided at the conference.

New this year will be a fly-by over the Harold E. White Aviation Center with an American Eagle aircraft ERJ-145 Commercial Airliner at 9:30 a.m. This is the largest commercial jet to fly into Lewis Airport since the Boeing 737 was donated by United Airlines.
