VVSD Kindergarten Enrollment Begins March 14

Valley View School District 365U will start registering kindergarteners for the 2011-2012 school year on March 14. 

Children must be five years old on or before September 1, 2011.

According to the district, the enrollment dates and times are:
 
Families living south of I-55 where only English is spoken in the home should go to the Romeoville Recreation Center’s Bodine Room, 900 W. Romeo Road, Romeoville from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p. m. Monday, March 14 through Wednesday, March 16. 
 
Families living north of I-55 where only English is spoken in the home should go to the Bolingbrook Park District, 200 Lindsey Lane, Bolingbrook from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p. m. Monday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 16. 
 
Families where a language in addition to English is spoken in the home should come to the VVSD Administration Center, 755 Dalhart Avenue, Romeoville, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, March 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 15-18 or 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 21-23. 
 
According to the district, students must be enrolled by either a parent or legal guardian and must provide the following documents:

●One of the following showing proof of age:
          --Certified birth certificate (no photo copies, hospital birth certificates or baptismal certificates will be accepted)
          --If foreign born, the child’s passport or legal birth certificate from
country in which student was born
          --For a foster child without a birth certificate, a Health ID card is OK 

●One of the following for proof of residency:
          --Tax year 2009 (payable in 2010) real estate property tax bill
          --Mortgage statement dated within 30 days of enrollment
          --Current-year lease signed by landlord with landlord phone number

●One of the following for additional proof of residency:
          --A utility bill in the parent’s name dated within 30 days of enrollment
          --Business mail in the parent’s name dated within 30 days of enrollment

●A photo ID for the parent or legal guardian
          Students cannot be enrolled unless all required documents, including student data sheets, are available. Student data sheets have been mailed to many potential kindergarten families. Forms are also available at the District Administration Center in Romeoville.
          Foster parents, legal guardians and children living in another person’s home should contact the Enrollment Department to discuss special circumstances before registering.
