Oprah to Feature RHS's Spartan Sparkles

Romeoville High School's special needs dance team, the Spartan Sparkles, is among groups scheduled to be featured on the Oprah Show on Friday, November 26th at 9:00am on Channel 7.

Producers of the show paid a visit to RHS last week to tape the team saying "hello" to Oprah as well as to collect still shots that may be included in a slide show on the program. Clips of a Spartan Sparkles performance at either a football game this year or a basketball game last year may also be included.

Coverage of the Sparkles will be part of one of Oprah's "update" shows, following up on a show she did last year on special needs dance and cheer teams with a look at teams, like the Sparkles, that have started up since that show was aired.

Sparkles team members include Aeriale Black, Jessica Littrell, Brooke Oko, Miranda Way, Griselda Chavarin, Taylor Barcus, Jaquelin Littrell, Paulina Mucha, Emily Golibrzuch and Jennifer Welch.
