My tip this week; remember to keep kindness active and alive in your life, even if you are the only one who knows you’ve done something nice for someone else, you will feel GOOD!

Hello, everyone!

Random acts of kindness; do they still exist? Well I'm here to tell you they absolutely do.

The other day a member of my extended family was leaving a store during a rainstorm and slipped and fell. A young man racing to his car to keep from getting soaked came immediately to her aid,  helping her up and making sure she was okay before heading to his car. He didn't have to help her, he received no special reward, he just acted on instinct.

What about the 36 week pregnant woman who recently rescued a 4 year old autistic boy from a busy intersection...she acted on instinct, putting his safety before hers. She wishes to remain anonymous believing she only did what she hoped anyone else would have done.

How many of you have seen a child get away from their parent in a busy parking lot and rushed to see to the child's safety until reunited with his/her parent?

There have been many reported incidents just like these each and everyday. You can find acts of kindness even in nature. There have been countless stories of mother dogs/cats taking over nursing and mothering an abandoned pup/kitten or even a squirrel or bunny.

In a world where we read so many stories of pain and suffering, of robberies and assults, of abuse and neglect, it is easy to become discouraged but remember for every story you hear of, about pain and suffering,  there are stories about random acts of kindness that will be left untold. That's because those who act out of the kindness of their heart aren't looking for recognition or rewards. They are just doing what comes natural to them. They don't even realize that what they have done is anything special.

Most people have the instinct to be kind but sometimes they are afraid to act on it. It's easy to understand how they could be afraid but, don't let fear define you. Follow through with your instinct to be kind. When we do something for someone else we feel good and maybe that's the best reward we could hope for.

My tip this week; remember to keep kindness active and alive in your life, even if you are the only one who knows you've done something nice for someone else, you will feel GOOD!

 Have a great week,

Romeo the little black dog
