There are sure some crazy local laws in Illinois. We picked out five of the craziest.

In which city in Illinois can you get fined for mispronouncing the name? It's not the towns of Somonauk or Lisle, although both names are tricky. Think you know? Then you know one of our five weirdest local laws in the state of Illinois.


Speaking of laws, two citizen-backed constitutional amendments are heading down the road toward becoming laws. Those amendments being, of course, redistricting reform and legislative term limits. But they've hit a roadblock as a Michael Madigan ally has filed a lawsuit to block both proposals.

In Palatine, it is also illegal to put squirrels down your pants for the purposes of gambling.
