Romeoville is doing particularly well when it comes to home sales. Meanwhile, sales are down in other parts of Chicagoland.

Will County was the only county in Chicagoland where home sales have gone up this year, Crain's Chicago Business reported.

According to Crain's, in the first five months of 2014, Will County home sales rose 6 percent compared with a year earlier, while sales fell in the five other counties in the metropolitan area.

Romeoville has done particularly well, according to the report, with home sales up 32.6 percent this year compared to the first five months of 2013.

Towns like Joliet, hit hard by the foreclosure crisis, are seeing a boost from homebuyer assistance programs, the report said.
