White Oak Library District Ponies Up with Programs for Teens & Tweens

There will be movies and activities during a special week of programing at all branches of the White Oak Library District.

Pony Week?

This February find out what Pony Week is all about as the White Oak Library District celebrates the international TV show "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic."

"We'll have programs for teens and tweens and all Bronies and Pega-sisters are welcome to join the festivities," said White Oak Teen Librarian Cindy Shutts in an email.

Shutts said library users can watch the My Little Pony movie "Equestria Girls" at the Crest Hill Branch on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. and at the Romeoville Branch on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m.

And she said, if you are a crafty pony, you'll enjoy My Little Shrinky Dinks on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Romeoville Branch.

All of the Pony Week events are for teens in grades 6-12.

For the younger crowd, Shutts said, "We'll have our Be-Tween My Little Pony Perier Beads at the Romeoville Branch on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m. where you'll create an amzing pony out of fuse beads."

The Feb. 12 event is for children ages 10-14.
