Romeoville Service Will Be a Salute to Veterans—Past and Present
Plus, local headlines that didn't make today's newsletter.
Recognition of veterans. Presentation of wreaths. And a moment of silence in observance of all past, present and fallen men and women who have fought or are fighting for our country.
All will be part of a Veterans Day Service Monday, Nov. 11, at Edward “Doc” McCartan Veterans Memorial Garden, Montrose Drive and Route 53, Romeoville. The service begins at 10 am.
Some of the other highlights: The Romeoville High School band will perform the national anthem; the Romeoville High School Marine Corp. Junior ROTC will March off and Present Colors; Fr. Sebastian Gargol, associate pastor at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, will deliver the opening prayer; Major Benjamin Bierly, commander Romeoville High School Marine Corp. Junior ROTC, will be the featured speaker; and Mayor John Noak will provide closing comments.
