Little Hands Working to Make Big Impact in Hermansen Toy Drive

Plus, headlines that didn't make today's newsletter.

Little hands will be playing a big role in putting smiles back on the faces of young survivors of tornadoes that ravaged parts of Illinois on Sunday, Nov. 17.

Officials at Hermansen Elementary School in Romeoville have launched a “Helping Hands Toy Drive” to help brighten the holiday spirits of all those left with nothing to do but rebuild their homes and their lives after a powerful storm wreaked its havoc in Coal City/Diamond and Washington, Ill.

New, unwrapped toys will be accepted from Dec. 2-6 at Hermansen Elementary School, 101 Wesglen Parkway, Romeoville, according to a news release from the Valley View School District. And—get this—students at the school may bring in toys and leave them with their classroom teachers.
