Do it Now: Register for Romeoville's Annual Holiday Decorating Contest

Registration is under way for the 29th annual holiday decoration contest in Romeoville. Any decorated home may be nominated by a resident. To register a home, call (815) 886-7231. Registration ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13.

Judging will be Monday, Dec. 16. Contestants are asked to leave their lights on from 6-10 p.m. Only homes with lights turned on will be judged. The judging is based on creative use of outdoor decorations.
Winners will receive the following prizes: First place ($80 gift certificate), second place ($60 gift certificate), third place ($40 gift certificate). Three prizes will be awarded in each region: North, Central, South and West. Note: Contestants are eligible to win first place only once every three years.

The list of winners will be posted on www.romeoville.org on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
