The Animal Clinic Romeoville is barking up a collection tree.

In an effort to assist victims of the tornado that leveled much of Washington, Ill., folks at the clinic are collecting pet food and other animal needs for pets and pet owners affected by the Nov. 19 tornado.

The collection drive runs through Dec. 13. Then, items will be taken to an animal shelter in Washington, Ill., so the shelter pets that have been homeless can enjoy the holidays and some downstate pet owners can rejoice, too.

A drop-off receptacle is located in the Animal Clinic of Romeoville’s main reception area.

PET PHOTOS WITH SANTA: Santa Claus is scheduled to arrive at the Animal Clinic of Romeoville on Dec. 7. Visitors will be permitted take photographs of their pets sitting on Santa’s lap from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The event is free. And the clinic will have treats for the pets and will provide cookies and punch for owners. The Animal Clinic of Romeoville is located at 334 N. Independence Blvd., Romeoville. For more information about the clinic, visit www.animalclinicofromeoville.com or find the clinic on Facebook.
