White Oak Library Welcomes Business Community

Ceremonial ribbon cutting celebrates opening of library district's newly renovated Romeoville branch

The newly renovated White Oak Library in Romeoville was unveiled to the business community Thursday.

Community leaders gathered for the ribbon cutting, held in partnership with the Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Romeoville.

“It is important for the business community to know that local students have access to these resources to help them be better prepared students now, which leads to more knowledgeable workforce in the future,” said Amy King, Rasmussen campus president and Romeoville Area Chamber Of Commerce Board chairman.

The 46,000 square foot building underwent a $6.3 million renovation that doubled the building’s usable interior space.

“I am happy to report that we continue to work hard on improving this library district,” said Scott Pointon, director of the White Oak Library District. “At this time we have wrapped up construction on the Romeoville branch and are gearing up for construction in Crest Hill and Lockport.”
